Though we’re still waiting for word on if and when Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training for Nintendo Switch will come to North America, we can see more of the game in action in the UK launch trailer for the game which is out now.
Exercises from previous games in the franchise have made their return, like Sudoku, rapid math tests, memory tests, as well as the dreaded Brain Age test, where you learn just how slow your brain really is (all while earning Dr. Kawashima’s sadness and disappointment). The Dr. Mario-like minigame, Germ Buster, is also back from Brain Age 2.
New activities utilize the right Switch Joy-Con’s IR motion cameras, allowing players to play rock paper scissors or answer math questions by showing the correct number of fingers. Players can also compete locally, with each person using one of the Switch Joy-Cons, or in World Championships, where scores are ranked against other players globally.
Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training for Nintendo Switch also introduces new features, like the ability to email daily training results to members of your Nintendo Switch Online Family group, or to set an alarm on your Switch that reminds you to do your daily training.
If you’re in the UK or Japan, do you have Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training for Nintendo Switch? For those of you in North America, are you hoping for a release in the region?
