As a franchise, Street Fighter has had some strange mash-ups over the years. Capcom’s characters have fought the X-Men in arcades, and even teamed up with G.I. Joe against Cobra across toy shelves and comic books. Their next team-up could be their strangest, however, as a new toyline with Takara will turn four popular Street Fighter characters into Robots in Disguise!

The Street Fighter II X Transformers line features four figures of major Transformers characters repainted to resemble popular characters from Capcom’s fighting game franchise: Optimus Prime is Ryu, Megaton is Bison (Vega in Japan), Hot Rod is Ken and Arcee is Chun-Li. The figures really are quite interesting looking, and, in some cases, the choices are very fitting. Arcee as Chun-Li, in particular, might be the cleverest mash-up, given the fact that both characters have similar “hairstyles.”

Fans can preorder the figures on a number of different websites as an import. There is a chance these figures will receive a local release, but these types of Takara crossovers tend to stay Japanese exclusives. We’ll keep you posted if anything changes!
