Titan Quest, the Diablo-esque action RPG from developer Iron Lore Entertainment, has been announced for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
Originally released in 2006 and published by the now defunct THQ, Titan Quest sees players fight and collect loot across Ancient Greece, Egypt and China on a quest to defeat the Titans after they escape from their ancient prison. The gameplay itself will be very familiar to fans of Blizzard’s Diablo series.
Two versions of the game will be released on consoles — a Standard Edition, which includes the Immortal Throne expansion, and a Collector’s Edition, which ships with a helmet replica, a notepad and a premium box.
The PS4 and Xbox One versions have been announced for March 20 2018, with a Switch version coming “when it’s done”. You’ll be able to pick up the Standard Edition for $30, or the Collector’s Edition for an eye-watering $110.
Notably, the console release doesn’t seem to include the game’s most recent expansion, Titan Quest: Ragnarök, which was released on PC last month.
While it may seem slightly strange to release an 11 year old PC game on consoles, the Anniversary Edition was released on Steam in August 2016 and apparently sold over 1.6 million copies within a month of release.
