Area 34 recently announced that its upcoming game, Tiny Metal, is coming to Nintendo Switch.
Tiny Metal is a turn-based tactical strategy game inspired by the likes of Advance Wars. The “simple yet deep gameplay” will apparently be combined with an “engaging story,” which sees players take on the role of Artemisian Lieutenant, Nathan Gries, as he commands his units to victory against the villainous nation of Zipang.
The game will feature 20 campaign missions and will allow players to customise units with multiple upgrade options and it is expected to offer around 8-10 hours of single player gameplay. Its turn-based combat can be seen in the below video:
Tiny Metal was originally announced back in October 2016 as a Kickstarter, but the campaign was canceled before it could reach the goal. The developer had also previously tried launching another game via Kickstarter, called Dragon Hazard: The Saviors of Havinia, but that too failed to reach its goal.
Tiny Metal is scheduled to be released on Switch, PS4, Windows and Mac later this year.
