It’s finally here, folks: the last look at The Super Mario Bros. Movie before it comes to theaters on its new release date of April 5. The footage debuted during today’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie Direct broadcast. Enough preamble—take a look:
One of the biggest reveals in this trailer was getting to see Luma (or a Luma, if the movie is anything like the games) and hear it speak. The voice is very childlike, which suits the characters. It was also rather exhilarating, if this writer may interject his own childlike reaction to the footage, to see Donkey Kong wielding the power of a Fire Flower. JAKKS, y’all better give us an action figure of that! The kart racing also looks like it’s going to factor into the movie as possible the final act of the film. The bits we’ve been shown so far are really engaging, so if that’s how The Super Mario Bros. Movie is capped off, it should be a thrilling end.
The rest of the broadcast featured some cameos from Miyamoto and others associated with the film, which you can check out at the link below. In the meanwhile, let us know if you were stoked by this trailer or thorughly disappointed!
