Over the last few weeks, The Pokémon Company has created quite a bit of buzz about Meltan. A new Steel-type Pokémon coming to Pokémon: Let’s Go, the mysterious Meltan first began appearing in Pokémon Go last month, but trainers were surprised to discover it was simply a Ditto in disguise. This morning, The Pokémon Company debuted a new pair of trailers, as well as information on how to acquire Meltan in the upcoming games!
In the trailer above, Professor Willow is able to find Meltan in the wild after the Mystery Box is transferred to him by Professor Oak. In the games, players can acquire the Mystery Box in Pokémon Go by transferring any Pokémon from Go to either Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! The Box will be sent as a reward to the mobile game, as a result. After opening the box, players can then find Meltan in the wild in Pokémon Go and transfer the new Pokémon to the Switch game.
While it’s quite interesting to find definitive information about how to catch Meltan, the second trailer hints at an even bigger mystery. A strange silhouette in the trailer teases either a secondary form for Meltan (similar to Pokémon like Deoxys), or perhaps even an evolved form! We don’t have any definitive answers just yet, but stay tuned to Nintendojo for more information as it develops!
