In 2013, Zelda fans were treated to The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia from Dark Horse Comics. The beautiful tome provided a wealth of artwork and previously unpublished information on the franchise, including the series’ official timeline. This February, Nintendo and Dark Horse will reunite for The Legend of Zelda: Art and Artifacts, a new collection that promises more than 400 pages of behind-the-scenes information on the past of the franchise, as well as its future.
The book seems to be based on the upcoming Hyrule Graphics book set to debut in soon in Japan. The book will apparently feature box art, replicated instruction manual information, promotional materials, character illustrations, interviews, and much, much more. Fans that picked up Hyrule Historia will also be pleased to know that Art and Artifacts will be published in the same oversized format, with an overall similar design, this time in red. The volumes should complement each other quite nicely paired on a bookshelf!
The Legend of Zelda: Art and Artifacts will be released on February 21, 2017. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more information on the book as it develops!
