The Legend of Legacy is making a comeback. Now dubbed The Legend of Legacy HD Remastered, this touching up of the popular 3DS JRPG is slated for an early 2024 launch. You can take a look at its reworked visuals in this trailer:

Here are some of the key details about the game, straight from NIS:

  • Legendary Storytelling: Illustrator Tomomi Kobayashi, renowned composer Masashi Hamauzu, writer Masato Kato, game designer Kyoji Koizumi, and Masataka Matsuura all come together to create a one-of-a-kind adventure!
  • Seven Heroic Journeys: Each character in The Legend of Legacy HD Remastered has their own motivation for exploring Avalon, as well as their own individual conclusion at the story’s resolution. Play through as each character to see how their tales unfold!
  • Combat Innovation: Battle enthusiasts can discover a new level of challenge during combat by using formations and stances to assign flexible combat roles instead of fixed classes!

Along with the standard version, fans can also look forward to the Limited Edition of the game, which comes with the following goodies:

  • A copy of the game
  • Masashi Hamauzu soundtrack CD
  • Digital copy of the soundtrack
  • Mini art book
  • 55-page Chronicles of Avalon art book
  • War of the Elementalists 24″x17″ cloth poster

The whole shebang retails for $79.99 and can be pre-ordered right here.

The Legend of Legacy was renowned for its gorgeous, painterly visuals as well as its multiple story arcs to explore. What’s more, the game featured a unique leveling system that rewards players for experimenting with different battle stances versus a traditional experience points-based system. The remaster looks to bring all of that back but with a shiny coat of HD paint once it comes to Switch next year.
