Pokémon Sword and Shield’s first DLC expansion is officially live and playable. It’s time to head back to the Galar Region and the new Isle of Armor area. There are a couple of things to know before heading out, however—all of which being quite exciting.
Last year, we entered the Galar region for the first time in #PokemonSwordShield.
Today, you can explore the first part of the expansion for these games—The Isle of Armor!

First, from now until June 28, players can take on Zeraora in Max Raid Battles. If a million players defeat Zeraora in these battles, everyone will be gifted a Shiny version of the Pokémon. Second, players who download the Expansion Pass for Sword and Shield will be gifted special Pikachu and Eevee uniforms to wear. Finally, those who purchase the Expansion Pass now will be able to get a limited set of Leon’s cap and patterned tights.
Of course, beyond all of that, exploration of the Isle of Armor itself will yield a bunch of new Pokémon and more, so it’s definitely worth a look for fans of the games. Just don’t forget to download the right pass for the right game: there has been a spate of players downloading the incorrect Expansion Pass for their particular game and, thus far, Nintendo isn’t offering refunds. Pay close attention before making your purchase!
