The 90’s Arcade Racer, the crowdfunded arcade racing game originally announced for Wii U, is heading to Switch under its new name ’90s Super GP.
The news comes via the game’s product page on Nicalis’ website, which now lists Nintendo Switch alongside PC and PS4 as the platforms that the game will be available on.
A successful Kickstarter campaign was completed for The 90’s Arcade Racer in 2013 and the arcade racer, inspired (unsurprisingly) by 90’s arcade racing games, was originally meant to be available on Wii U. However, it was reported last year that, along with the change of name, support for Wii U had been dropped. Since then, we have heard relatively little about the game.
It is a pleasant surprise then to discover that the game’s development is ongoing and that it will still be coming to a Nintendo console. You may be dismayed to learn though, that the developer still has yet to announce what prompted the change in the positioning of the apostrophe in “’90s”.
’90s Arcade Racer is being developed by Nicalis. Inc. and Antonis Pelekanos (aka Pelikan13). It was originally intended to be available in 2013 but its release date is currently listed as TBA.
