Tales of Vesperia was a popular iteration of the celebrated Tales RPG franchise, but its reach was unfortunately limited back in 2008. Throughout most of the world, it was only available on Xbox 360 while the PS3 eventually got an expanded version of the game in 2009, but that was only made available in Japan. Namco Bandai recently revealed the game would be getting a remaster on current systems, including Switch, and now they have confirmed a release date as well as some sort of special edition.
Unfortunately, we don’t actually know much about this special edition. Alongside the announcement confirming a January 11, 2019 release date, the publisher released an image of what appears to be a steelbook case prominently featuring the dog character Repede.
Putting aside the special edition, we do know that each copy of Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will feature all of the extra content from the PS3 version as well as higher resolution visuals.
