Nintendo Switch has been on the market for just over a year and in that time it has broken a plethora of records. Now, Nintendo of Germany has released their Switch numbers for the system’s first year, and the results are, at this point, anything but surprising.
Germans have purchased more than 650,000 units of the hybrid console. While this is a large number by anyone’s measure, the more impressive fact is that it is currently outpacing Wii, which previously held the record as the country’s fastest selling system.
When we last heard global sales numbers in December, Nintendo stated over 14 million units had been sold, so it will be interesting to see what those numbers look like as a whole now that a full year has passed since launch. Maybe I’m jumping the gun, but it seems likely the cavalcade of large numbers and broken records will continue for the foreseeable future.
