Nintendo firmware updates aren’t particularly frequent, but when they do occur, they typically aren’t halted. Oddly, this has been the case for firmware Version 12.0.3. The update when live yesterday but was then stopped hours later.

Nintendo has not offered a statement explaining why distribution was cut off, but the company has at least acknowledged the situation:

As of June 8th, we have temporarily stopped distributing system update version 12.0.3 (released June 7th, 2021 at 5:00 PM PDT). This message will be updated when distribution is resumed.

As for what the update provided in the first place, it was a typical improvement to system stability, as Nintendo is infamously wont to do. If Nintendo provides further elaboration on the situation, we’ll be sure to let you all know.
