Super Mario Maker 2’s Story Mode is hiding a couple of super cool power ups for use in Course Maker that players can unlock by collecting coins to finish repairing Princess Peach’s castle.
Do you remember the Superball Flower from Super Mario Land? It’s the first of the unlockables and, once he touches it, turns Mario gray and changes some of the sound effects and stage music to the style of Super Mario Land.
The Superball Flower shoots a ball that can bounce off of walls to creatively defeat enemies using well-timed ricochets into small crevices. It can only be used in the Super Mario Bros. theme.
Next up is the Super Hammer, available only in the Super Mario 3D World theme. It transforms Mario into Builder Mario, who swings his hammer to break blocks, including Hard Blocks, and can also spontaneously generate crates for him to stand on.
The game has only been out a couple of days now, but has anyone unlocked these power ups? What do you think of them? Let us know below!
