Thanks to a little digging by the folks at Cerealously, news has emerged indicating that gamers and breakfast lovers will soon be able to get a little extra Mario in their lives. What started as pictures of a cereal box floating around the internet showing off Super Mario Cereal now appears to have been confirmed by Kelloggs. But what makes this cereal extra special, is that the boxes apparently feature a sticker with Amiibo functionality.
After Cerealously reported on the rumors, they received a response from Kelloggs stating, “We hope you’ll keep an eye out for the new Super Mario Cereal that is hitting store shelves now. This star-shaped cereal features Super Mario-inspired marshmallows, and a limited number of packages will have an Amiibo powerup sticker that can be used on the Super Mario Odyssey game.”
According to the box, the cereal will have a “mixed berry” taste and include Mario themed marshmallows, like mushrooms and “?” boxes. Unfortunately, nothing has been said about what the Amiibo stickers will actually do in Super Mario Odyssey. Hopefully this will be confirmed soon.
