Earlier this year, Switch received Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, an enhanced version of the arcade classic with HD visuals and a pair of new fighters. Sales of the title exceeded Capcom’s expectations, and the company quickly began to make Nintendo’s hybrid platform a bigger priority. Now the system will play host to a dozen other titles in the franchise when Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection releases in 2018!
The compilation spans much of the Street Fighter franchise’s history, excluding the Marvel crossover games and a handful of more recent series entries. The game will include:
- Street Fighter
- Street Fighter 2
- Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition
- Street Fighter 2: Hyper Fighting
- Super Street Fighter 2
- Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo
- Street Fighter Alpha
- Street Fighter Alpha 2
- Street Fighter Alpha 3
- Street Fighter 3
- Street Fighter 3: 2nd Impact
- Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike
After a sparse early investment in Switch, Capcom has been showing a lot more interest in the platform, of late. In a recent interview, the company stated a desire to bring more titles to the platform that have never released on a Nintendo system. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 certainly fits that description, though it’s nice to see multiplatform titles like Mega Man 11 and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, as well!
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is scheduled for release in May 2018.
