Though Harvest Moon proved to be a rather unlikely success story when it first appeared on SNES, the title ushered in a genre of farming simulation kept alive by titles like Stardew Valley. This fall, the genre will see a new release in the form of Stranded Sails: Explorers of the Cursed Islands from Merge Games, Lemonbomb Entertainment and rokapublish. The title will have its own unique twist, however, as players are also tasked with exploring multiple islands and battling enemies in gameplay inspired by The Legend of Zelda franchise!
As players explore the game’s open-world, they must provide sustenance for their crew, in order to maintain morale. Players can expand their crew as they explore each island, and find resources to build and expand their ship. The title will be offered both physically and digitally. A Signature Edition will be available both on Switch and PS4, but Merge Games has not detailed exactly what will be available in this version, at this time.
Stranded Sails: Explorers of the Cursed Islands certainly seems like an ambitious title! We’ll have more information on the game as its October release date approaches!
