Eric Barone, the developer behind Stardew Valley, recently gave a long-awaited update on the game’s upcoming multiplayer update via Twitter.
Update on Stardew Valley multiplayer: still making good progress on fixing bugs, if all goes well it should be ready in about a month

A multiplayer mode was originally teased all the way back in 2016, and has always been a planned feature for the game. In fact, in a developer post from February, Barone revealed that he had enlisted the help of Tom Coxon from Chucklefish (the game’s publisher) to help get the multiplayer features over the line.
Multiplayer is perhaps the one thing missing from Stardew Valley at this point, but that didn’t stop it from being named runner up for Best Switch eShop Game in our 2017 end of year awards.
