Nintendo has a history of creating dark versions of its heroes — Dark Link, Shadow Mario, Dark Samus — and now ARMS has its very own shadowy version of a protagonist. Springtron, aka “the mean machine” and the menacing version of Spring Man, is the latest fighter to enter the ring via the new 4.1 update.
Springtron’s in-game description notes that he “releases a shockwave that deflects incoming punches when he breaks off a charge before it’s complete,” and when he completes a charge, “he releases a huge shockwave that deflects incoming punches.”
Since Springtron is the dark version of Spring Man, they share the same set of arms and anything that a player has unlocked for Spring Man can be used for Springtron.
Version 4.1 of ARMS also introduces new badges, some of which are unlocked by creating specific fighter/arm combos and others by fulfilling certain conditions on stages with environmental gimmicks.
