Though Nintendo might be done adding new content to Splatoon, that doesn’t mean it is done supporting the game. Today, Nintendo updated the colorful shooter to version 2.5.0, which includes a number of tweaks to improve gameplay and address certain issues.
From the looks of it, the focus of this update is polishing the game’s maps to perfection. Arowana Mall and Piranha Pit are both being tweaked to remove access to certain, unintended shortcuts found in various modes. Walleye Warehouse’s layout is being adjusted for Rainmaker Mode. Museum D’Alfonsino’s rotating platform had a problem with not properly recognizing how it’s been inked, which is being fixed. Lastly, Mahi-Mahi Resort had a problem with special meters filling too fast in Rainmaker mode that is being addressed.
While this might not be nearly as exciting as new stages and weapons, Nintendo has once again used Splatoon as a way to show the world that the company truly knows how maintain an online shooter and keep players coming back for more.
