Everyone loves a good crossover, right? Well, that’s certainly been the case when it comes to Sanrio merchandise, at least. We’ve seen everything from Street Fighter to Sonic the Hedgehog cross paths with Hello Kitty and friends, all rather successfully. That trend will likely continue with the upcoming Splatoon 2 and Hello Kitty team-up set to make waves in Japanese arcades starting February 7.
This latest collaboration between Nintendo and Sanrio sees Pearl and Marina of Splatoon 2 fame getting a Hello Kitty-themed makeover. The duo appear paler than usual and come sporting the bows of Hello Kitty and her twin sister Mimmy. They’re adorable, certainly, but they’ll also likely be a tough find out west, as there’s no word on the pair of plushes coming to either North America or Europe. We’ll let you know if that changes! In the meantime, feel free to look on lovingly.
