Nintendo’s Toy-Con VR hasn’t received much in the way of new content since the VR updates to Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, but that will soon be changing thanks to a new anime experience based on the popular Spice and Wolf franchise. However, it sounds like developer Gemdrops might not be aiming for a hardcore gaming experience.
Spice and Wolf VR promises the opportunity to, “take up the role of a peddler and experience a wondrous day deep in the forest, in a watermill, with Holo the wolf goddess.” The main mode will let you, “enjoy anime within the virtual reality space,” while an Interactive Mode allows gamers to pet Holo as well as interact with items within the environment.
The developer’s description appears to have received a relatively spotty translation, so the full extent of the experience is somewhat difficult to ascertain at the moment. That said, we’ll likely learn soon enough as the game is scheduled for release on other VR platforms on June 3. Unfortunately, the Switch version doesn’t have a release date just yet.
