In case you didn’t know, Minit is great. It’s a Zelda-esque overhead adventure game on Switch that has an incredibly unique mechanic: the player dies every sixty seconds! With each new life, the player is expected to venture further into Minit’s world and, eventually, break the curse that has been placed on the main character. It’s the sort of oddball premise that only an indie dev could come up with, and Minit milks every bit of fun that the game can from it.

There’s a new update available for Minit that adds a speedrun mode to the game. What’s more, there’s also a special contest being run in celebration of the update. Players have between now and November 5. There are two categories of competition:
- Any%/Normal Mode: Beat the game with any completion percentage as quickly as possible.
- 110%/Fewest Runs: This is also done in normal mode, but the goal is to get 110 percent completion with the fewest number of deaths or “runs” as possible.
The winner of each category will be awarded a Minit Speedrun World Champion shirt, a Minit plush, and a Devolver Digital game pack.
