As if there weren’t already enough compelling reasons to buy Pokémon Sun and Moon on launch day, Nintendo had to go and give us another: players who purchase the game by January 11, 2017, will receive a special Munchlax via in-game download that can evolve into Pulverizing Snorlax!
This powerful Munchlax will be holding the item Snorlium Z– when it evolves while holding the item it will evolve into a Snorlax that can use a Z-Move unique to its species: Pulverizing Pancake! Check out the trailer to see how fantastic it is to watch Snorlax go into overdrive and unleash all of the energy he’s been building up for the last 20 years. Munchlax will also know the moves Hold Back (an attack move that leaves the opponent with 1 HP) and Happy Hour (when used during a Trainer battle the player will receive twice the amount of prize money), which it normally cannot learn.
Munchlax and Snorlax weren’t the only Pokemon in the spotlight in the latest trailer, however. Rattata’s Alolan form was also revealed, and it’s now sporting a grayish-green coloring and some spiffy new facial hair. Raichu will also be getting in on the Pokémon-specific Z-moves and was shown using its unique move, Stoked Sparksurfer.
