Sonic the Hedgehog has hit a bit of a rough patch. Since the character first started to appear on non-Sega consoles, Sonic has had a few hits, but also a large number of misses. Luckily, the character’s Lego Dimensions debut looks to be a great return to form, in more ways than one.
Releasing later this week, the Lego Dimensions Sonic the Hedgehog level pack takes more than a few cues from the character’s Sega Genesis releases. Over the weekend, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment producer Doug Heder showed off the level pack on Live with YouTube Gaming. The level pack can be played with any Lego Dimensions character, but Sonic’s abilities allow him to better take advantage of the world, and what we can see so far looks just like a classic Sonic level. The gameplay begins about six minutes into the video embedded below.
It’s unknown at this time what else fans can expect in the level pack. More 2D action seems like a guarantee, but characters other than Sonic are set to appear as well. Perhaps some Lego fishing with Big the Cat? We’ll know much more when the title releases on November 18.
