The sequel no one really expected was announced by Nintendo to release on June 30, 2023. This is a follow-up to 1-2-Switch! which was a Switch launch title back in 2017.
The original game was met with mixed-reviews, with many critics stating it should have been a pack-in-title in order to show off the features of the Joy-Cons, as they were new at the time. 1-2-Switch! features 28 minigames that make use of the capabilities of the Joy-Cons as well as audio cues, and most of which require two players. The sequel looks to be more of the same, except now including smart-device capabilities.

A 1-2-Switch! sequel was announced last year but was delayed due to there being an apparent poor reception for it within the play-testing groups. This even worried Nintendo employees, as they feared it would “damage the company’s reputation as a great software developer” if it was released.
Everybody 1-2-Switch! will have smart-device capabilities, as previously mentioned, similar to the Jack Box Party Pack games. This will allow for more players than just those with Joy-Cons participating. This sequel is also only $30 compared to the first game which was sold for $50.
As of now no trailer has been released, but we have been promised balloons and aliens according to the Nintendo e-shop. Let us know in the comments what you think of this sequel!
