Nightly News Roundup

Numerous Hudson Titles Canceled

Hudson has seen major changes recently as the company was acquired by Konami and its American offices were shuttered. Now Famitsu is revealing how these changes are affecting the games.

Bonk, Bomberman, Kororinpa, and Omega Five for 3DS are all getting axed while the only Wii title to receive the curtain call is Deca Sports 4.

Officially, these cancellations are only confirmed for Japan, but given Hudson’s demise in the US, it is hard to remain optimistic on this side of the Pacific.

Bomberman being cancelled still can’t dethrone this monstrosity as the worst thing to happen to the franchise

Devil Survivor 2 Revealed

Another revelation from Famitsu are details on the sequel to Atlus’ excellent Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor for DS. The new game will feature a similar premise revolving around a group of young demon summoners who have a week to save Tokyo. What is new are the bad guys, a group of invaders known as the Septentrion.

However, what really makes this announcement noteworthy is the fact that Devil Survivor 2 is coming out on DS, not 3DS. The new game will be coming out in Japan this summer, probably around the time we in the US are playing the 3DS remake of the original, Devil Survivor Overclocked.

EA Announces the End of Printed Manuals

In an attempt to be more environmentally conscious, Electronic Arts has revealed its plans to follow a trend started by Ubisoft and discontinue providing printed game manuals with its software. The company will also be switching over to “Reduced Material DVD Style Cases” in another money/planet saving maneuver.

For gamers who aren’t satisfied with in-game tutorials, instructions for EA games can be accessed here, or through the menus of upcoming releases.

These trees, once destined to be video game manuals, now have no purpose in life

    KisakiProject says...

Wow I hate you now Konami. Seriously wtf? Korarinpa games sell well to my understanding. Plus Bomberman 3DS looked like way more than a cheap cash in. That new bonk game looked pretty cool too. TC-16 is what half my VC titles are. I wonder if that means they are gonna kill TG Express VC on 3DS? Seriously **** you Konami. RIP Hudson. Turbografx rocked!

    Aybody else feel my anger?
