Wow! The Game Developers Conference 2024 saw nearly a whopping 30,000 people in attendance, its organizers announced.
Compared to last year’s report, there was an estimated 28,000 attendees at San Francisco’s Moscone Center for the event. This year’s conference featured over 1,000 speakers and a total of 325 exhibitors. There was also an additional 730 different workshops and round table discussions.
GDC event director Stephanie Hawkins commented about this year’s 2024 conference, stating “GDC exists to give developers a space to meet, network, and learn. We were gratified to witness first-hand as aspiring developers and veteran game makers convened to share their knowledge and ambitions to create the amazing games that we will enjoy in the years ahead.”
There was also two award ceremonies that took place during the week-long conference: the 24th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards and the 26th Annual Independent Game Awards. Finally, if you’re planning for next year, the dates are set for GDC 2025 to be held once again at San Francisco’s Moscone Center from March 17, 2025 to March 21, 2025.
