Velan studios has announced that it will be shutting down the online multiplayer servers for its dodgeball brawler Knockout City. Since the announcement back in February 2021, the studios have been preparing to find the right time to close off the servers with a bang. After a little over two years since the game’s 2021 release date, Knockout City will be finishing one last season called “Sunset Showdown.” Following the final season there will also be a two week event leading to the game’s final day starting May 28. Players are expected to receive triple XP, “massive rewards,” and a community-favorite playlist. Then we will be saying sayonara to the online brawler as the servers official last day of operation is on June 6, 2023.

After running nine seasons of the multiplayer service, the studio has decided that it was time to put the game to rest after an unsuccessful struggle to attract and keep enough players to support leaving the servers open. This doesn’t mean the beloved game will be gone for good. The studios does plan to release a private hosted server with pre-formed groups on PC for fans to continue playing.
