Horror games are a tricky nut to crack. Give the player too much power and the level of threat and fear is eliminated. Make players too weak and they feel overwhelmed and unable to proceed. Developer Cracked Heads Games, in collaboration with Headup, is hoping to find a happy balance with its upcoming game Silver Chains for Nintendo Switch. Check it out:
In Silver Chains, players explore an eerie Victorian mansion. Its mysteries are unraveled through an intricate storyline and puzzle-solving gameplay. Played from a first-person perspective, Silver Chains is touted for its use of Unreal Engine 4, which the game uses to amplify the spookiness of the mansion and its… unearthly inhabitants. However, while it might be tempting to strike back against encroaching foes, Cracked Heads implores players to flee, instead, stating that it’s an “evil you cannot fight.”
Silver Chains is expected to come to Switch in the spring of 2019.
