A new tool has been prepared by Nintendo for users to perform a system transfer. This is recommended if you are planning on selling your Nintendo Switch before getting your Nintendo Switch 2.
This transfer is located within the settings menu. Once you begin the Server System Transfer, your data will be uploaded to the server and wiped from the console, resetting it to factory settings. After getting your Nintendo Switch 2, you can download the data from the Server System Transfer, so you are able to keep your games, save data, and upload data. You can also transfer data using local communication between the source and target consoles.
Keep in mind some data may not be transferable. You can refer to this Nintendo customer support page for further details regarding transfers.
