Switch owners will have another retro-inspired indie platformer to play later this month thanks to the latest game published by Nicalis, Save Me, Mr Tako! Furthermore, the publisher is labeling October the “Month of the Octopus” in celebration of their new release.
Largely created by one developer, Christophe Galati, Save Me, Mr Tako! puts players in control of the titular mollusk who lives in a world where humanity is at war with the octopuses. However, after the peaceful Mr. Tako saves a human woman from drowning, he is gifted with magic powers by a fairy for his reward. Now, Mr. Tako can go on land and use 50 different hats that grant him extra powers. Check out the trailer below for a better idea of the gameplay.
Given the Game Boy-inspired visuals and the different powers associated with particular hats, it seems the game is going for a Kirby vibe. Of course, we’ll be able to tell for certain on October 30 when the game launches.
