This rumor was shared by Zippo, a prominent leaker who has provided correct information and confirmed rumors in the past.

Zippo’s post states that the game will be launched next year in tandem with Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo’s unannounced new console. The game will be a 3D, open world style such as Super Mario Odyssey but will not be a direct sequel or prequel to that title. Supposedly, Nintendo is taking this new game in “an entirely different direction” than with previous games.

The game is reportedly being developed by Nintendo’s EPD Tokyo, the studio that developed Super Mario Odyssey, and have been hard at work developing games. The time gap can be chalked up to the developers being given a “no deadline” policy. With that being said, the game was rumored to look “absolutely jaw dropping.”

Nintendo has still not made any conformations about a new console, however there have been many rumors to support the release of a Switch successor in the second half of 2024.

Do you think these rumors will be validated? Let us know in the comments!
