In just a few days, Switch owners will be able to battle the hordes of hell, but people have already got their hands on the games files and dataminers are hard at work uncovering what extra features this version of the game may hide. Their biggest discovery so far suggests Amiibo might be on the way.
According to the uncovered information, two new Amiibo will be released for the game, though the title will also be able to interact with all other Amiibo as well. One new figure will be a Demon that, when used, will summon a powerful demon for you to fight and has a cool down time of about 45 minutes. A Treasure Goblin will be featured on the second Amiibo and it will generate a portal, however we don’t know where it will lead yet because it’s tied into game’s connection with Blizzard’s servers. Other Amiibo will function like the Treasure Goblin and, like it, will have a 22 hour cool down.
Diablo III releases for Switch on November 2, which also happens to be the start date for BlizzCon, Blizzard’s annual showcase and celebration of and for its many successful games and passionate and fans. While we can’t say for certain until it happens, this does seem like an ideal time and place to reveal these Amiibo.
