Over the last few weeks, rumors have been swirling regarding a sequel to Beyond Good and Evil, Ubisoft’s cult classic title. Since the game first appeared on GameCube and other consoles, fans have been all too eager to see a sequel, and director Michel Ancel has heavily hinted that an official announcement is coming soon. With the debut of the NX also apparently coming any day now, rumors continue to suggest that the title will be announced as a system exclusive.
According to the most recent rumors, an official unveiling for the next Beyond Good and Evil will accompany the announcement of the NX, with an expected release date of 2018. The title will apparently be an expanded remake (similar to Metroid: Zero Mission), rather than a full-blown sequel. Since 2018 will mark the fifteenth anniversary of the original title’s release, a remake that also expands on the original title’s cliffhanger ending seems to make quite a bit more sense.
With the NX tentatively scheduled for a March release, more information should be coming sooner rather than later. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more information as it develops!
