The rumors are starting to surface as the upcoming Game Developers Conference is around the corner that Nintendo is working on the successor to the Switch console. A recent 2-week survey was held back in October 2023 that had polled about 300 anonymous gaming industry professionals. It was revealed that some questions were asked such as “Which platform(s) most interest you as a developer?” And “Which platform(s) are you developing your current project for?”
Lo and behold, in the first survey question we see that a 32 percent responded with the answer of “Nintendo Switch Successor” followed by an 8 percent response for projects following the development of the unannounced console. It would be no surprise that developers are already interested in a new console, especially one to succeed the Switch. Though the survey showcases that there are projects in development, it doesn’t quiet mean that these developers have access to the new development kit yet.
Though we don’t know too much, it is still interesting to hear some news of a future console. The Switch will be hitting their 7 year mark in March 2024, which has been 7 years since Nintendo last released a new console.
What are your thoughts of an upcoming Switch Successor? Let us know in the comments.
