Nintendo Reaches Numerous Sales Milestones in February
February gave Nintendo plenty of reasons to break out the champagne as a slew of products achieved major sales accomplishments.
Wii reached 35 million total sales in US since its launch in 2006 while New Super Mario Bros sold its 9 millionth copy and relative newcomer Donkey Kong Country Returns hit 2 million. The best selling game of the month was Just Dance 2 from Ubisoft.
On DS, Pokemon SoulSilver also reached the 2 million mark, and that is just SoulSilver, its counterpart, HeartGold is counted separately and apparently isn’t quite as popular. The older, more portable New Super Mario Bros also made it big by reaching its 9 millionth sale since its 2006 launch.
