Ubisoft Not Counting Wii Out Just Yet.
While some developers may think the Wii has lost its novelty because the craze is over, Ubisoft isn’t among them. In an interview with IndustryGamers, Ubisoft revealed just how positive about Wii they are, and that they think that Wii still has plenty of time left. The following quote is from Ubisoft’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, Tony Key.
“Well until further notice, it’s still the most successful machine in the history of video games, the most successful home console ever. Just as recently as ten months ago, they had the biggest hardware month in the history of our industry, with 3.3 million units sold. Guess what? Christmas is coming again. I think that anybody who makes assumptions about the Wii going away quickly, or is over, is taking a big risk. Certainly, Ubisoft doesn’t believe that.”

EA Excited For 3DS
EA is really looking forward to more mainstream 3D gaming. In an investors call, EA confirmed that all of its new titles will be 3D ready, so that when the market is there, EA will be ready. EA went on to say that “3D will be a little bit more interesting next year, certainly very interesting on the 3DS which has 3D built into it.”
While there are 3D games, they aren’t as popular as some companies would like. However, the release of the 3DS next year is sure to change that.

Technically the Lost Zone mechanic is nothing new. It’s been around for a few sets, it was just never fully utilized.
Right, but as far as pokemon primes go, it is new. Prior to this set there hasn’t been a pokemon prime released in the USA with a lost zone effect. Even without Lost World, lost zone decks will still be pretty good, too.
Alert: Pokemon card nerds are in these waters!
I know Tidman plays, and I’m assuming you do as well, James? How long have you guys been playing? I’m honestly not familiar with anything you two are discussing, but curious about the subject matter.
Oh man, I wish I were still active to be a Pokemon TCG nerd. I stopped playing around the end of Neo Destiny, which, um, I guess was … a really, really long time ago.
I did manage to pick up a few boosters here and there of the new crowd, but a lot of them were super, super weird, and eventually I just didn’t have anyone to play with. Unfortunate, but true.
Well, that’s my sob story, haha.
@James: That remains to be seen, though Gengar (Prime) has actually made a nice addition to me VileGar deck since I can us him to get rid of those pesky Dialga G Lv.X and Blaziken FB Lv.X. Also, Twins is awesome.
@Evan: I played the game years and years ago when the original Base Set was around up through the Expedition Base set when Nintendo took the rights back from Wizards of the Coast. I didn’t pick it back up until recently when the HeartGold SoulSilver series started up. There’s so much power creep in the game that it’s not even funny, but it’s still a really fun, tactical game to play.
@Hseih: At least it’s one less drain on your resources. One of these days I’m going to have to give it up again because I’m spending too much money on it… but not today!
