Developer Marcus “Siactro” Horn has produced a couple of excellent low-poly platformers for Nintendo Switch called Toree 3D and Toree 2 (which we loved and you can learn more about right here). Now, Siactro is following up those games with a more robust game called Super Kiwi 64 that was announced back in April of this year. We’ve spent the subsequent months on tenterhooks wondering when Super Kiwi 64 would launch, and now we have an official release window: December of 2022! You can take a better look at the game in this new trailer:

The gorgeous visual style, which leans heavily into the look of games from the Nintendo 64/PlayStation era of gaming, is one of the major draws of Super Kiwi 64. Particularly because Siactro has some really beautiful design work going on here; just look at the lighting in that mushroom world! Delightful stuff. Now, if you’re hankering to play something new from Siactro prior to December, there’s a prelude game called Beeny that’s launching October 14 on Nintendo Switch. Beeny is a 2D platformer whose prerendered visuals are reminiscent of games like Donkey Kong Country on SNES. You can see it right here:

Siactro has been quite busy working on both titles. If you want to support his work, both Toree 3D and Toree 2 are available no for download on Nintendo Switch. For just a couple of bucks you can experience the perfect primer for Super Kiwi 64. What do you think of Siactro’s old school gaming sensibilities? Tell us down in the comments!
