The Pokémon news has been arriving at an alarming rate this week, and we have even more information about Pokkén Tournament! The Pokémon Company has confirmed that the game will launch March 18 for Wii U. This is a worldwide launch, so North American and European trainers can look forward to playing the game on the same day.

In addition, one more Pokémon fighter has been revealed for the game! The Ghost/Fire type from Unova, Chandelure, joins the battle! Chandelure comes hot off the heels of the other fighters announced this week– Mewtwo, Garchomp, and Braixen. Pokkén Tournament is proving to have quite the variety in its lineup– a far cry from the initial reveal which showed only Fighting-type Pokémon duking it out.

The release of the game is just two months away, and is part of the celebration of Pokémon for the franchise’s 20th anniversary in 2016.

In February I’m headed to Japan for a vacation. Being a video game fan, it would be a huge waste for me to not seek out a few arcades while I’m there.

This game is definitely on my list to track down. Even if it’s just a month before launch, getting a sneak peek at a game before the release is pretty appealing.
