Fans have been waiting since its launch back in October for Pokémon TCG Pocket to finally allow players to trade cards. Well, the wait is very nearly over, as The Pokémon Company International has announced that trading will be coming to the game on January 29, 2025, along with a new expansion series of cards starting the next day on January 30, 2025. Here’s the announcement trailer:

Trades are exactly what they sound like, with players able to swap most (but not all) cards among themselves. Of course, it won’t be quite as straightforward as players would like, with the addition of new trade hourglass and trade tokens needed to facilitate the feature. The Pokémon Company states that a broader range of trade-eligible cards will become available with future updates.

As for Space-Time Smackdown, the expansion will be bringing with it two new packs of cards to open, with each bearing either Dialga or Palkia on the front. There will also be new binders and display boards featuring these Pokémon. Finally, Lucario, Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup will also be available as cards in this set. So, there’s plenty to look forward to for Pokémon TCG Pocket fans next week.
