Artist take notice: there is a contest on the horizon that could result in your work being immortalized on the face of a Pokémon TCG card. The Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest 2022 is set to kick off on October 13 and is open to residents of the United States and Japan. Artists must choose from one of eight Pokémon (see the list below) and draw what an average day in the life is like for that particular Pocket Monster.

Here’s what can be won and how many winners will be selected:
- One Grand Prize Winner (JP or US contestant): $5,000 cash prize and TCG promo card
- Two 1st Runner-Up selections (1 winner from JP, 1 winner from US): $3,000 cash prize and TCG promo card
- Two 2nd Runner-Up selections (JP or US contestant) : $1,000 cash prize
- 15 Judges Award selections (JP or US contestants): $500 cash prize
Here are the eight Pokémon to choose from:
- Arcanine
- Bulbasaur
- Charizard
- Cramorant
- Galarian Rapidash
- Greninja
- Scizor
- Pikachu
The entry period ends on January 31, 2022. Artists can submit up to three total illustrations, or to put it another way, artists have a maximum of three entries into the contest pool.
