That’s right, Pokéfans. The Game Boy games that took the world (and our childhoods) by storm are finally coming to 3DS Virtual Console! You’ll have to wait until February 26 next year for ’em, but there’s a good reason: it’ll be the 20th anniversary of the series! While the games will be presented in their original grayscale format, trading will be done via local wireless connection, so no futile attempts to hook up your Game Boy Link Cables are necessary.
Japan will also receive boxed copies of these three versions (alongside their exclusive Green version) on the same date. Further information on what’ll be included in these boxes (not to mention whether or not they’ll arrive stateside) remains unknown.
