This week’s Pokémon Presents brought with it a bunch of fun announcements. One of the quirkiest of the bunch was word that a new Pokémon app will be coming to mobile called Pokémon Sleep. Let’s take a look at what this new application does:

Pokémon Sleep is a game where the player, with the aid of newcomer Professor Neroli and his lovable Snorlax assistant, charts their sleep each night. Once the app is activated on the player’s phone, it will measure the type of sleep that they had and analyze it. Doing this allows the player to catch Pokémon, with these particular Pocket monsters each resting in different positions. The position you rest in will reflect which Pokémon you capture, with some positions being quite rarer than others.

Alongside this app, which launches sometime this summer, is the new Pokémon GO Plus + (yes, two pluses!) accessory. Observe:

Pokémon GO Plus + works to both turn on and off the functions of the Pokémon Sleep app (and even serenades players with a singing Pikachu via a built-in speaker), but also acts as an auto-catcher for Pokémon GO. It comes to stores starting on July 14. Nintendo has been rumored to be mulling over a quality of life initiative like this for some time now, so it’s interesting to see it manifesting as a Pokémon offshoot. Will you be getting either of these when they launch? Tell us in the comments!
