Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were at the forefront of today’s Pokémon Presents broadcast. There’s a lot that has been revealed, so let’s get right to it. Here’s the latest trailer:
Let’s break down the major highlights:
- The New Region is Called Paldea: This new locale is inspired by Spain and contains lakes, high peaks, wastelands, and mountain ranges to explore.
- The Terastal Phenomenon Makes Pokémon Glimmer and Shine: When a Pokémon in Paldea Terastallizes, its body becomes like a gem. Tera Orbs allow Pokemon to make this transformation once per battle. The Pokémon also receives a major power boost that lasts throughout the remainder of the altercation. Using something called Tera Orbs, which must be recharged between battles.
- Tera Types: There are 18 different Tera Types, and if you pair them with corresponding moves of the same type, there are a lot of powerful combinations to take advantage of.
- Tera Raid Battles: Team up with three other Trainers and take on Terastallized Pokémon.
Some new Pokémon were also shown off today:
- Fidough: A Fairy Type puppy Pokémon.
- Cetitan: An Ice Type Terra Whale Pokémon.
- Paldean Wooper: This version of Wooper is a Poison Type fish Pokémon.
Finally, those who purchase Pokémon Scarlet and Violet early will get a special Pikachu. This version of the electric mouse knows the Fly move and also is a matching Flying Tera Type.
