Right before E3, Playtonic revealed a follow-up to their throwback 3D platformer, Yooka-Laylee. The new title, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, makes a number of changes with the most significant being a switch from 3D, to 2D gameplay for most of the action. Of course, there’s also a new setting and characters, and this is where you and other fans of the game have a chance of becoming part of the action.

Playtonic has announced a Community Competition in which five fans will have the chance to be made into members of the Royal Beetallion Guards, a group of potential allies Yooka and Laylee can save throughout the game. In order to take part, fans need only submit some sort of Yooka-Laylee themed content, be it art, cosplay, or just about anything creative. The creators of the best submissions will work with Playtonic to come up with a “suitable bee name,” which probably means some sort of bee pun, as well as a “beeography” for your character. Did I mention bee puns?

Submissions can be made through Twitter by tagging #PickMePhoebee and they have to be submitted by 1 pm BST on June 28th. Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair releases for Nintendo Switch sometime later this year.
