Update: This morning, some Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players are reporting that the game’s latest fighter is causing some headaches. Apparently, playing as Piranha Plant in the game’s All-Star mode can lead to save data being corrupted. At this time, it’s hard to know how widespread this is, but players should err on the side of caution, for now!
When Nintendo announced the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 2.0 update would go live today, many fans speculated that the first downloadable character would be added to the roster shortly thereafter. Those assumptions proved to be true as Piranha Plant is officially available now!
The character is a free download for anyone that registers Super Smash Bros. Ultimate by January 31. A download code is then sent to the e-mail address associated with the account.
Will you be playing as the latest addition to the Smash roster? Let us know in the comments below!
