Prepare yourself for a huge dose of adorable: Pikachu has been named a Cultural Ambassador for the City of Osaka.

The iconic Pokémon accepted its nomination with grateful paws from Foreign Minister of Japan Tarō Kōno, leaving our hearts brimming with delight. Pikachu was in good company at the ceremony, as Hello Kitty was also named a Cultural Ambassador. The cuteness overload was in full swing.

Pikachu and Hello Kitty will assist Osaka in strengthening its claim for the 2025 World Expo, along with fellow Ambassadors Club members de Fútbol Pachuca player Keisuke Honda and Kyoto University professor (and 2012 Nobel Prize winner) Shinya Yamanaka.

The next World Expo, which is held every five years, will take place in Dubai in 2020, but Osaka is running against Saclay in the suburbs of Paris, Yekaterinburg in Russia, and Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, for the honor of being the 2025 host city.

Something tells me Pikachu and Hello Kitty just might be able to get the job done. They’d swing my vote!
