Who wouldn’t fancy a fun puzzle game to help pass this seemingly endless time in purgatory? Well, it might feel like purgatory, but the necessary precaution of sheltering in place to help flatten the curve of COVID-19 infections is certainly a worthy challenge to take on— still, even the most serene of citizens are feeling restless, these days. That’s why we’re optimistically awaiting that fun puzzle game we mentioned, which just happens to be Picross S4. The game is coming to Nintendo Switch on April 23.
Picross games feature nonograms, or logic puzzles that require players to either fill or leave empty a series of squares depending upon the sequence of numbers displayed on the side of their accompanying grid. Fill in the squares correctly and an image is revealed! Developer Jupiter’s Picross S series on Switch has been a crowdpleaser from the beginning, but during these trying times a new entry will be most welcome for many a fan, Here’s what the game will have to offer according to the official website:

- Mega Picross
- Color Picross
- Clip Picross
- Extra Puzzles
As an added bonus, those who have played Picross S, S2, and S3 (or any combination thereof) will be able to unlock up to three Extra Puzzles in addition to the two that come with the game. There are also some planned quality of life improvements to anticipate, including alterations to how markers function in multiplayer.
