Pac-Man Wants You to Use Your Brain and Be a Good Person

Even Pac-Man dislikes inconsiderate people in the theater.

In Japan, Pac-Man is here to provide a friendly reminder to shut the heck up and sit still during a movie.

From November 22 to December 19, Japanese movie-goers who visit any of 19 participating theaters will get to enjoy a video of Pac-Man making it clear how not to behave during a film.

The video, set to an original song called “The Manner,” depicts the Pac-Man ghosts engaging in a number of annoying (and in one case, illegal) behaviors that ruin the theater experience: Inky on his phone, Pinky and Clyde talking, Blinky kicking the seats in front of him, and Clyde recording the movie. I guess Clyde just really wants to watch the world burn because he’s a double-offender.

Needless to say, Pac-Man teaches them all a lesson (perhaps living out the fantasies of many of us when we encounter said rude behaviors out in the wild), while delivering a much-needed PSA: be considerate of others while watching a movie at the theater.

Bonus: the video is being accompanied in Japan with a giveaway of movie tickets and Pac-Man merchandise.
